Generation X And Abortion

When it comes to culture perhaps generation X has had the strongest influence on people. People who belong to generation X were mostly born during the baby boom age where several babies were born after World War II. Not only that these people were brought up in severe and difficult circumstances economically.

Also, health wise it was not the best of times as people were dealing with several epidemics and other health conditions. If the birth rates were high, the death rates were also high. Generation X is not pro-abortion but since they have grown up with financial strife they could say no to a baby they do not want. However, this is only a rough estimate and not a confirmation that people of Gen X were more open to abortions.

Many politicians who belong to the Gen X have values that are neither pro-abortion or against abortion. They, however, believe in keeping individual rights and so they d not come out very strongly. People who are very religious in this category oppose abortion and do not believe in it usually. Otherwise some people when they think that abortion is a must against all odds believe in it. Abortion is not something that is specific to a generation and it has always existed through many generations. These days the rates of abortions are high because the attitude of teenagers towards sex is also erratic. Mistakes have always happened and so have abortions. But during the 70s abortions were not allowed in the United States except in New York. It was legalized much after that and that could also be the reason why generation X does not believe in abortions.

Generation X is very different when it comes to any other generation. It has been noticed that the religious attitude of people who were born in the early beginnings of generation X and that is in the 1960s were more religious. However, the religiosity within this generation was found to be dwindling as they progressed towards the 70s. More..
