Generation X And Death
There are several definitions as to what generation X but basically they have been categorized as the people who were born in the post war period until 1980. Health wise generation X has been through what we call the worst times. The remedies were less and the suffering was more. Towards the 1970s, the situation had improved with various medications and vaccinations becoming available. |
However, the lack of proper medical facilities has caused the generation to witness a lot of suffering. It has been noticed that the generation X is much less sensitive to death as they would have witnessed more of this during their growing up years. The whole world was also recovering from a financial epidemic after the World War and deaths were very common. It could be a grand parent or a parent but the generation was going through it all and was in the middle of it.
Every person in this generation would have witnessed at least three deaths of a close person who would have been a relative or a friend. However, it is not the same for people who belong the younger generations and they are much more sensitive to such facts of life. It has also been found that generation X is mentally more stringer to deal with such situations in life than any other generation because most of them would have either ailing parents or would have already lost their parents. Losing someone so close to them and also dealing with the situation at the same time shows they have better adaptability mentally.
