How To Find Pension Plan

       If you are running a business, you will be interested in how to find a pension plan that is best suited for your business and employees. There are basically 2 types of pension plans you can choose from, and they are defined contribution and defined benefit.

Define Contribution Plan:
       This is an annual contribution pension plan where the funds are contributed for each participant. The participant will receive the funds based on the vested portion of the pension that has accumulated along with interest earnings.

Defined Benefit Plan:
        In this type of pension plan a projected benefit is calculated for each made and the employer must provide the benefit based on actuarial tables. Participants are entitled to the vested portion of the benefit they have earned to date and provide more retirement security than defined contribution plan. This pension plan is ideally suited for older employees.

  • Profit sharing plan is one where the employer contributes 15 percent of the total eligible compensation on an annual basis. A good example of this plan is the 401k plan.
